Our mission for the church is to build on a foundation that Paul describes in the Bible.
A church were the congregation comes together for a greater good. How awesome would it be if these Haitians grew and learned how to do their own outreach and learned how to mentor in their own communities instead of waiting on Americans to come in and do all this for them?
A church that provides resources for the Haitian community and teaches them how to care for one another in need. Teach them to help others in the community, to provide prayer groups, children's ministry, children's Sunday School, VBS, small groups, mentors for children, outreach programs, bible study, women & men bible study, marriage and family mentoring.
Show them the gifts that God has given them and teach them to use them to help others.
"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully, administering God's grace in its various forms." (1 Peter 4:10)
And , we are familiar with the word where it speaks on the people being the church.
But we also believe in blessings, blessings from God, and the resources God provides us with to bless others.
And what better gift to bless people with, as a whole..
(Acts 20-35 says this) And I have been a constant reminder, an example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus."
Its more of a blessing to give than receive. Amen
